The Devil Has No Mother by Nicky Cruz

I have just finished reading one of the best books . Every teen ager, parent and grandparent, adult needs to read this book . Cruz has brought to light what has been diminished  and even hidden from us.  This is the reason so many are fighting battles they cannot seem to win and life has begun to be so hard for them. This is information we all need to know to live the lives that have been intended for us. This is a book that not only reveals what we need to know but also shares stories and instances that will help us to understand we are not the only ones fighting these battles. I recommend this book to every one.  We all need to know what is going on and how to fight it.  If  you care about your families or your own life and what is causing it to be less than you want it to be, this is a book for you. I have included a link so you can check it out for yourself. An amazing book.

FORMER GANG LEADER NICKY CRUZ PENS NEW TITLE,
THE DEVIL HAS NO MOTHER—A FOLLOW-UP TO HIS 1988 BREAKOUT HIT, RUN BABY RUN

25 YEARS AFTER HIS LAST BESTSELLER CRUZ IS BACK ENCOURAGING CHRISTIANS TO BE BOLD IN THE FACE OF EVIL
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – April 25, 2013— Nicky Cruz knows all about the power of the devil.
“This guy has no mother” is an old Spanish saying used to refer to boys who seem bent on evil and destruction. I remember it well from my childhood in Puerto Rico, because people would often use it when referring to me. –Nicky CruzThe Devil Has No Mother
From a spiritualist childhood in Puerto Rico to the gang culture in New York to an international Christian ministry, Nicky Cruz has seen humanity at its best and its worst. In his new book The Devil Has No Mother (Worthy Publishing, July 2013, $14.99, 9781617951893), Cruz draws on these early experiences and many others from his evangelistic ministry to drive home the reality of the devil’s no-holds-barred attempts to gain power over individuals and communities. This former gang leader also shows clearly why God, not the devil, will win! The Devil Has No Mother contains story after story of the reality of spiritual warfare and draws on New Testament teaching to show why Christians need to be bold in the face of evil.
Nicky Cruz has traveled widely around the world, speaking to hurting people in all walks of life, in the 40 years that have passed since he came to Christ in New York through the selfless devotion of David Wilkerson. Nicky’s ministry has reached thousands of inner-city gang members as he speaks to their need from his own experience. His ministry regularly targets urban environments in order to reach those who are most frequently trapped by destructive lifestyles and caught in a downward spiral of intense violence, drug abuse and gang activity. If it's About An Ice Cream Cone .....

Anybody that really knows me knows that I think it is a horrible injustice to eat ice cream in a bowl. Ice Cream was made for cones. Yes, even at my age, my ice cream has to be in a cone and a sugar cone makes all the better.  Well, anyway,  I love this image and we are just staying with some friends and all I had packed was some different shades of purple and of course my copics LOL. They even won out over makeup LOL. This card was made for a swap on Homemadecards group. I love purple and the girl who's name I received to send to is very special to me.  Anyway I found some shades of purple flowers in the zipper bag of my suitcase and I went into my jewelry case and found the purple centers and the heart. I also found some butterflies I had punched out for something else and put them in the case to protect them since I didn't use them like I planned :) This is a Mo image called "Lacie with Ice Cream" Isn't she just adorable.
Thank you for looking and have a blessed day.  Hugs, Cathy K

Sassy Cheryl's Cream and White Challenge

I have to tell you I love this image,  anybody that knows me knows that is what my hair looked like as a child.  Come to think of it , it still looks like that ;)  I have fine straight hair and it does not like to curl (now you know more about me huh ;)
Anyway,  I really like Sassy Cheryl's precious images. Cheryl was having Cream and White Challenge,  It is hard for me not to add color so I really had to think on this one. But I was able to only use Copics basic cream and basic white markers and had 3 shades of cream cardstock in my drawer (yes, still stamping at the foot of the bed on the floor LOL) I've gotten so used to it that I don't mind not having a stamping room except my husband can't get in and out of the bedroom when I am stamping and Cayla, my Maltese doesn't leave the top of the bed.  Thank you for looking and Happy August. This year has gone so fast I can't believe it.
Blessings to you all, Cathy

A Touch From Heaven by Neal Pylant & Christopher Pylant

I have decided to start sharing a few things in my life on here.  One of my loves is reading .  I used to be a librarian along with some other careers.

I just read an amazing book called "A Touch From Heaven"  It is about a couple who wanted a boy to pass on their name for the next generation. They were blessed to have a beautiful baby boy named Christopher (the co-author of this book) . It tells the story of the trials they went through when Christopher was diagnosed with a brain tumor at a very young age.
This is a book that once you start you will not be able to put it down.  They share their innermost heart and emotions and how they see a miracle happen.  So if you like a book that keeps your attention then this is the book for you.  Amazon & Barnes and Noble carry this book if you are interested. Thank you for allowing me to share . Hugs, Cathy

It's Summer Card

I made this card for a summer swap.  I made it a 3D card.  I almost quit and threw it away.  But I am stubborn and decided that no card was going to defeat me LOL  Everything on here is a Meljen's digi except the beach bum digi.  There is a lot of glitter on here but it doesn't show up very much.

The cat is Meljen's Beach Kitten

The Sand Castle is called just that~ Sand Castle
The Sun is Meljen's Summer Sun

I would love to tell you where I got the beach bum digi but I don't remember. All the shells were cut out from the Beach Kitten.  And as usual I have to have a butterfly someplace on my cards. I love butterflies.  I hope your summer is going great.  It is between 104 and 110 here, yes we are back in Arizona and I love it. The temps are going to be going higher so I am very grateful for air conditioning though I spend my mornings until about 1 or 2 p.m.on the patio. Thank you for looking and Happy Stamping.  Hugs, Cathy

House Mouse KIssin' Fish

I had so much fun with this one. I don't remember the name of the stamp , sorry. One of my house mouse list members sent me this image, and I love it. I have the best members in the  whole world ;) Someday I will own this stamp ;)  but I had to color it and when I finished I thought how am I going to layer this so I used the purplish pink cardstock and sparkly glitter card stock (you know me, somewhere there has to be glitter. and glittered up the water lily's   and a lattice die cut that I found in a sale bin someplace and then I was stumped so  I sat on the floor and thought and remembered that Mark and I had bought some avocados and they came in a green net.  Now if there is fish there has to be net somewhere right?  So that was my thinking anyway.  Then I needed flowers but I didn't have any the same color as the lily's and so I found in a corner some old white artificial flowers off  a decoration.  I cut them smaller and tried to put pointed edges like the lily's and colored them with  Copics R22 (light prawn) and R85 (rose red) and blended them with my blender pen.  Anyway I added the green stones and highlighted the card with blue chalk pad that one of my members sent me (Thank you Carlota)   Boy I am rambling aren't I.  Sorry, I guess I am talking to you since I don't have anyone else to talk to :)  Hugs, Cathy

Meljen's Bejeweled Bliss ChallengeI

I love Meljen's  digi's and besides her digi's being heart stealers she is the sweetest girl herself.  I have absolutely loved getting to know her.  I would adopt her if I could :)  Anyway, this is the first time I have entered one of her challenges even though I use her images a lot.  We were supposed to make it sparkle. So the swirls are glitter paper, the stars are glitter paper and the skirt has glitter dots on it, oh and the paper behind the die cut is white glitter too .  I had fun LOL  Some of you know how I love sparkle on cards LOL.  This image is called "Windswept Diva" and she has the cutest images of different poses of this diva. I love them all.  Thank you for looking.  Have a wonderful  stamping day. Hugs, Cathy K

Sweet Smellin'

I  love this stamp,  I use it a lot just because they look os sweet.   How can you not love these mice.  Their antics are adorable.   I found the dotted paper in a box and some odds and ends of embellishments.  My Sweet husband is feeling so bad because I don't have a stamping room yet and am using the bedroom floor. But you can't stop a stamper can you. We will find a place somewhere.  It feels good to be off the road for a while and we are believing we will find the right home with a stamping room soon.  Hugs, Cathy

A Mo Image Card

Yes,  I like so many others I love Mo images,  they so remind me of my wonderful great granddaughter.  I made this one for a home page contest.  I may not be chosen but I sure had fun making it.  I have to admit using the bedroom floor to make cards is getting a bit old but hopefully we will have a home again soon.  My husband is so awesome, he wants to give me a stamp room again soon.  He has carted some of my stamping supplies all over the United States the last 3 years as we have gone around speaking about the Love of the Lord and I have to tell you I have the best girls on my House Mouse Stamping list. They have kept me supplied with images and papers and so many things when we were someplace that I had an address. We are now back in Arizona and happy as can be to be warm again.  Sending you all big hugs, Cathy

Poppy Card

Oh I love Poppy's, at least the colors of them.  This is a swap using a sketch. As usual I didn't have too many supplies unpacked yet.  But this weekend is going to be an unpacking of my supplies, Yes for sure.  I realized after I had taken the card to the post office that I hadn't cut out between the stems or at least colored them in.  I was really not happy. So please imagine that the stems are done.  I won't make that mistake again for sure LOL.   That was another punch I found at Ross's or T.J.Max for $4.00 (Martha Stewart). You girls need to find those stores in your area.  Humm wonder I am supposed to be saying that LOL oh well, Stampers share secrets don't they ;) I think my husband is surprising me with a new and better camera.  My hand is ready to grab it already LOL hugs, Cathy

My Australian Swap Card

We were to make a card that depicted something in Australia,  I have just arrived in Arizona (yahhh) and most of my images and stamps and digi's are still packed but I found this one.  Wish I knew who made this image.  Anyway,  again with the turquoise accents.  Would you believe I found this corner punch and edge punch (the set) at I think it was Ross's or T.J.Max for $5.99 Regular $24.99  Love their stores for hidden treasures and they are Martha Stewart punches.  God spoils me. LOL  hugs, Cathy K

Favorite Flower Color Swap (TLC Image)

I love this image and it celebrates life. Each Day is a new start and a new breath of life.  This is the card I made for a Swap that we were to use the colors of our favorite flower.  Now I know, your saying, there is no such thing as turquoise flower. You are right in the natural but when I go to the grocery store I always buy a bouquet (when I do LOL) that has turquoise flowers in the bouquet. Turquoise is one of my favorite colors.  Hugs, Cathy

For My Friend

Here is a card I made for a friend of mine who adopted as rescue dog who had been severely beaten and her back legs do not work right because of the abuse and she is afraid of every shadow and every movement.  For some reason she felt comfortable with Mark and I and wanted to be on our laps and we would find her on our bed. One time I felt something warm under the blanket and it was Sophie (her name) She weighs only about 4 lbs.  So I made my friend this card when I saw the image.  This is a Meljens image. I truly need a new camera.  The colors that show here are not the true colors so hopefully a good camera is in my future LOL I am still making cards on my bed or on the floor but I am believing for our own home soon.
Hugs, Cathy

Spring Swap

This is a card I made for a Spring Swap and I found the background in a bargin bin and it sparkles, I don't know if you can tell and just over layed it on tope of blue cardstock.  The flowers are one from something I found and thanks to my Copic pens I was able to dye them to the same shade as the background paper.  The  flowers are all made with Stickles. Oh how I love anything that glitters LOL>  The image (digi) is from Beccy'splace.blogspot.com . I couldn't pass it up and I know it is one I will use alot.   Oh the leaves, I have to tell you.  My daughter had a small die for her Sidekick and I was playing with it and just used some card stock sitting there and punched out the leaves. Threw them aside and then when I was making the card, it needed something else and being we are still traveling I didn't have anything much with me.  Then bingo, I remembered those leaves in the corner. LOL and they matched the background and the flowers.  I don't know what I will ever do when I get a stamping room again.  Learning to improvise has been challenging but I have some of the most magnificent girls on my stamping list and they take such good care of me. Thank you girls.  Hugs, Cathy

My "Sally" card

I have a very dear friend who has been on my Original House Mouse List for almost 13 years, wow hard to believe that list has survived 13 years, anyway, she is very sick and she knew how much I loved this image and we used to talk about it. Someone sent me the image and so I had to use it on her card.   I found the punched out layer in a bargin bin and used yellow background paper.  Then the flowers are from a wedding and after the wedding they were going to throw them away.  Well........ a stamper can't let that happen can they.  Nope, so into my pocket they went. I don't know if you can tell but they are "glitzy"  and "sparkly"  that alone was enough for me LOL .  I hope she likes the card.  She is an amazing woman.  Hugs, Cathy

K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple Sweetie)

We had a Keep It Simple Sweetie swap on our Original House Mouse Lover's Group and it was so hard for me to just leave well enough alone LOL .  I think jewels and glitz make a card but this is what I came up with fast as I only had 15 minutes to make a card before we got in the car to start traveling again LOL.  I love this image and one of my members sent this to me.  I used to have the stamp but alas, someone else has it now.  Maybe it is one of my favorites because I used to be on a tennis team and loved it. Oh Well,  I still think there should be a colored rinestone on each bow and a bit of glitter on the tennis ball and a few more embellishments but I had to go by the rules, since I am the one that made the rules LOL  Hugs, Cathy

My Grandsons B'Day Card

Am I the only one that finds it hard to pick out the right image for a "man" card.   I saw this as a free download on Printable Downloads and decided to use it.  I was on the road when I made this so had very few supplies with me and accidently found a small packet of bubbles , the punch I used for the corners was one that I punched out before we left Arizona last August and they were floating in the bottom of my suitcase.  For me "man" cards are the hardest to make.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  Hugs, Cathy K

Anniversary Card For Our Friends

I made this card for some Pastor Friends in Arizona.  I thought I would never forget the name of  the digi artist that drew these poppies but I did :( .  I love poppies and coloring them was fun.  The background behind the lattice layer is very sparkly but it doesn't show on here.  I will tell you a secret ;)  I can't tie a bow for anything and then I saw a YouTube video about making bows with a fork and I love it. That I can do. LOL .   Thought I would share this with you since I haven't posted anything in a while.  We have been on the road.  Thank you for looking, Hugs, Cathy

Love Card

I wanted a card I could use for Anniversary and not just Valentines and then Paulette from TLC Creations sent this image and just when I needed a sentiment, she sent this one today. It is like she reads my mind. I do not have my Cuttlebug or my Big Shot machines with me and so I had to improvise on the frames. You sure don't realize how much you use those machines until they are in storage :) I do not have a talent for making bows but came across this tutorial on making bows with a fork. That helped me a lot :) The gold and white paper behind the image is all different love saying but as you can tell you can't see them. Anyway, loved this image and had to use it. Thank you for looking. Hugs, Cathy K

A Red Carnation

I love Carnations, I think Red Carnations, Red Roses and of course Diamonds should go together in a girl's life, don't you ? Do any of you remember the song " A White Sports Coat and A Red Carnation" or was it "A Pink Carnation" LOL I guess I am getting in the Valentine spirit after all. Just had some time today and my husband did dishes, Yeah, this just started since we got to Iowa :) anyway had a c.d teaching I wanted to listen to so went to my desk and plugged in my computer and started to play with this and some other images. If you could see the images I have finished and haven't put on cards, you would be shocked. It is easier for me to color images where we travel and stay then to take out the cutter and tape and papers and put the cards together. I am rambling aren't I. Oh my and I have only had 2 cups of coffee today LOL Anyway, thank you for taking a peek at my cards. Hugs and stay warm,it is 7 degrees here and snow and ice and wind. Hugs, Cathy

Card for my Grandson in Afghanistan

This is a simple card but is perfect for my Grandson Matt, who just turned 2 years old and is a mine sweep in Afghanistan (one of the most dangerous jobs) I am so proud of him and he is my hero. I am enjoying having time to stamp even if almost all of my supplies are in Arizona and I am in Iowa. Like I said before, you can't stop a stamper. Hugs, Cathy

Kisses (TLC)

This card was so much fun.I love this image. It is going to my daughter. I think she needs a "Mama" fix LOL. I hope she doesn't see this post. Anyway, I must stay away from the stamping table for the rest of the night, so I think I will go make some Organic Popcorn from Trader Joe's LOL Hugs, Cathy

Celebrate (TLC)

I love this image and I love the birds, I have a beautiful view of the bird feeder from my chair. Though it is not Arizona with the sunshine, it is Iowa with the cold, snow and rain and icy roads today. But the birds are still beautiful. So I had to make this card LOL The birds on the bottom do not quite show up because they are all together in a group. And I love sparkle so they all had to sparkle LOL hugs,Cathy K

TLC Crown

This picture does not do this image justice. It is such a beautiful graphic digi and I couldn't get my camera to show the detail I wanted it to. I love this image but finally just had to realize it was not going to show up on here as awesome as this image is. Hugs, Cathy

One Smokin' Mama Birthday Card

There is a story behind this card. I have a friend who always calls me "one smokin' mama" and no I do not smoke cigarettes (I don't even know how to spell it LOL) anyway her birthday is here and I saw this image and had to use it for her . She laughed when she saw it and when her husband sees it he will know and laugh too. I still do not have many stamping supplies with me and I sure miss my cuttlebug. But you can't stop a stamper, right? LOL Hugs, Cathy

TLC CARD (VALENTINES)

This is a very simple Valentines card but I love Paulette's images and sentiments over at Create With TLC http://createwithtlc-createwithtlc.blogspot.com/. If you have never visited there, you should take a look. She has a sentiment and image for every occasion. Just a heads up LOL The image below this one is one of her's :) Hugs, Cathy

TLC Image I love

I absolutely love othe this image, It reminds me of my sisters graduation picture years ago. For some reason it has a shadow above her lip and I took a number of pictures and it is still there. I wonder if it is because of the red glitter. Maybe I will do another image and see if it shows up on the that one . Hugs, Cathy
